Sutton Neighbourhood Police Team Update |

|
Another busy month across Sutton, with teams continuing to deliver excellent results for our communities whilst tackling the issues that matter most to you, our local residents. Before highlighting some of the operational successes, it's worth recognising that our collective efforts are having a positive impact. Over the last four weeks, Sutton has seen a 5% reduction in anti-social behaviour. By using intelligence, data and local knowledge to target patrols where they are most needed, we have also achieved a complete reduction in reported ASB within our open spaces in The Wrythe and St Helier East. This is a fantastic result and demonstrates the value of focused neighbourhood policing. 🔹 Drug Warrant Delivers Positive Results Following concerns from residents regarding ASB and suspected criminality, officers executed a drugs warrant at a local address. The operation resulted in the recovery of a significant quantity of Class A and Class B drugs and the arrest of three individuals. This is a great example of neighbourhood policing in action, listening to community concerns and taking positive action. 🔹 Operation Alliance Motor vehicle crime remains a key concern across the borough and September saw a week long focus under Operation Alliance where officers have been engaging with residents and businesses to help prevent offending. Crime prevention stalls were held across Sutton, with officers providing practical advice and reassurance to the public. It was also great to welcome MP Luke Taylor, who joined officers at Selco on the Kimpton Industrial Estate to see the activity first hand. 🔹 Operation Kubo As part of Operation Alliance, Operation Kubo delivered another strong day of enforcement activity: ✅ 25 vehicles stopped These operations continue to disrupt criminality whilst making Sutton's roads safer. 🔹 Stolen Vehicle Recovered Following Pursuit Officers responded to a vehicle that failed to stop for police and was subsequently driven dangerously, including ramming police vehicles. Following decisive police action, the vehicle was stopped and identified as having been stolen during a burglary in Wallington. Two occupants were arrested on suspicion of burglary. An excellent example of officers remaining professional and determined in challenging circumstances. 🔹 Live Facial Recognition Success A recent Live Facial Recognition deployment in Sutton High Street resulted in two wanted offenders being identified and arrested. This technology continues to support officers in locating wanted individuals and improving public safety. 🔹 Joint Operation with Trading Standards Neighbourhood officers joined Trading Standards for a proactive operation at an eBike retailer in Carshalton following concerns regarding illegally modified eBikes. Several bikes were identified as being unlawfully modified and were prohibited from being sold or rented until the modifications are removed. Follow-up work is now underway, including engagement with individuals who have purchased modified bikes. 🔹 Targeting Repeat Shoplifters Our focus on prolific offenders continues. Officers recently arrested two prolific shoplifters responsible for repeatedly targeting local stores and stealing approximately £200 worth of goods. Whilst the value of the thefts may seem relatively low, we know the significant impact this offending has on local businesses, staff and public confidence. 🔹 Stay Connected Through Met Engage Please remember that Met Engage provides a direct way to stay in touch with your local neighbourhood policing team.
